Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowship

Professor Andrew Jones, from the Centre for Health Economics, has been awarded one of this year’s Leverhulme Trust Major Research Fellowships on the topic 'Using new bio social data to explore inequality of opportunity in health.'

The proposed project will embed new bio social data within a unified ethical framework of equity of opportunity in health and focus on the ways in which early life circumstances and education shape lifetime inequality of opportunity in health and the pathways through which this happens.

The Leverhulme Trust is one of the largest providers of research funding in the United Kingdom, distributing approximately £80 million each year.

This Fellowship will support an innovative new program of research that spans economics, applied ethics, health and education policy, and statistics.
