MBA Orientation 2017
Monash Business School is delighted to welcome the new Monash MBA class of 2017.
In his welcome address, the Dean of the School, Professor Colm Kearney, said "You are a truly globally diverse MBA cohort and the entire school wishes you well for an exciting journey." The class of fifty students includes twenty six women, participants from more than a dozen countries and wide range of business and professional backgrounds.
In their three-day, residential Orientation and Leadership program the students got to know each other, the faculty and professional staff colleagues. A major emphasis of the weekend was establishing the learning culture for the program.
Led by Professor Anne Lytle, Director, Leadership and Dr Martijn Van der Kamp, the class worked through an intensive program featuring such critical issues as Creating the Leadership Mindset and Building Your Team for Success. Students spent considerable time on workshop activities designed to develop the key teamwork competencies necessary for successful study and business impact.
Referring to the creative and innovative orientation of Monash University, Professor Patrick Butler, Director, MBA Programs encouraged the new class to take every opportunity to explore new business models and to experiment with new business practices.
The Monash MBA is a two-year program that incorporates classes, experience-based modules, consulting projects, and overseas learning and engagement opportunities.
