EQUIS celebrates 20th year

Monash Business School is honoured to be part of the global business school accreditation system, EQUIS, which is celebrating its 20th anniversary this year.

Launched in 1997, EQUIS is the quality assurance framework of the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), and was created to give business schools a tool to assess and improve their quality in 10 key areas.

The first business faculty in Victoria to receive EQUIS accreditation in 2006, Monash Business School was re-accredited for five years in 2014. Only nine business schools in Australia have earned EQUIS accreditation.

“It’s a great honour to be part of 1% of leading business schools. We want to continue to improve, and that’s what EQUIS is about,” said Deputy Dean (International), Professor Michaela Rankin.

Since its establishment, EQUIS accreditation has become widely recognised as the most rigorous accreditation process, with only 167 institutions across 41 countries (from an estimated 15,000 business schools) holding the EQUIS quality label.
