Michele Leering

I am the ED/Lawyer with the Community Advocacy & Legal Centre (CALC) in Ontario, Canada and a Queen’s Faculty of Law PhD candidate on comparative legal education reform. 8 years ago we began a law student externship program. My legal practice experience includes traditional lawyering, and legal literacy, PAR, community development, systemic advocacy and law reform approaches. I belong to the International Legal Aid Group and consult on legal empowerment issues for OSF. I chair the Legal Ed Working Group of CBA’s A2J Committee, and helped create a Guide to Experiential Learning. I’ve been a LFO Community Justice Fellow at Osgoode Hall Law School, and a Visiting Fellow at ANU and Bond University.
