Assessing the Intersections between Yoruba Cultural Values and Clinical Legal Education in Nigeria

The advent of Clinical Legal Education (CLE) in Law Faculties in 2004 revolutionised the curriculum of legal education in Nigeria. This research aims to demonstrate that the basic tenets of CLE such as experiential learning and inculcation of professional ethics are inherent in Yoruba cultural values as practised in South-Western Nigeria and have always formed an integral part of formal legal education. This research will therefore evaluate the various intersections between Yoruba cultural values and CLE with a view to harnessing both components for an improved pedagogy.
