The sustainability agenda and the challenge to law school clinics

The Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015 has been hailed as world-leading legislation. Nikhil Seth, Director of Division for Sustainable Development, United Nations said of it: “We hope that what Wales is doing today the world will do tomorrow.”

The Act makes sustainability the organising principle of government in Wales. It creates an impetus to get students to engage with the major challenges facing their communities and create innovative solutions to the major challenges they face. This presentation will look at how the Swansea Law Clinic has been responding to this legislation and evaluating progress.
