Fees information

Take a closer look at the cost of studying with us.

All of our courses come with fees, but you may be able to access a government loan so you won’t need to pay upfront. We also offer over 200 scholarships, as well as fee discounts in certain circumstances.

Course fees

Domestic students

The Australian government's Research Training Program (RTP) Fees Offset covers graduate research course fees if you are an Australian or New Zealand citizen, or Australian permanent resident, for the specified duration of your course.

International students

International students, you can check fees by searching for your course.

You may also be eligible for a Monash scholarship. We have scholarships to cover the cost of your course fees, and the compulsory Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).

If you have a sponsor who is providing you with a fee-paying scholarship, you need to provide a letter of financial guarantee from your sponsor upon acceptance of your offer. This letter should provide details of all the costs that your sponsor will cover and indicate the duration of the scholarship.

If your scholarship is shorter than the duration of the course in which you are enrolled, you will need to pay the remaining course fees when your scholarship ends.

International students without a sponsor must pay a deposit equivalent to one semester's fees when accepting the offer.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)

All international students, or sponsors, must purchase the Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the period of the international student visa upon acceptance of an offer. This is compulsory for all international students.

Your International Student Course Agreement (ISCA) will specify the amount payable.

If your OSHC is not covered by your scholarship, you must pay the amount payable (as stated in your ISCA). If your scholarship only covers Single OSHC, and you require Dual Family or Multi Family cover, you must pay the difference in the amount payable.

Student Services and Amenities Fee (SSAF)

The Student Services and Amenities fee (SSAF) goes toward non-academic services and amenities to support you through university. The amount of SSAF you pay depends on your annual research load.
