The palaeoclimatology group performs research on recent climate changes (last 2000 years), climate change in the Quaternary period, as well as deep time palaeoclimatology associated with greenhouse earth environments. Our researchers work on developing palaeoclimatological methods, reconstructions of past climate and the dynamical interpretation of the atmosphere and oceans prior to instrumental records. This research applies multiple proxies such as ice cores, tree rings, sediments and geological tracers, and climate models.
