Monash English Bridging and Study Abroad

Have you met the academic requirements for a Study Abroad program at Monash, but have narrowly missed out on our English language requirements?

The Monash English Bridging and Study Abroad package might be for you.

Monash English Bridging is a pathway to a Study Abroad program at Monash University, providing you additional support with your English language and academic skills before starting your University classes.

After you successfully complete your Monash English Bridging course, you will be granted direct entry into the Study Abroad program at Monash University.

How is the Monash English Bridging and Study Abroad package structured?

Based on the results of your most recent English test, you will be placed in a Monash English Bridging course for 10, 15 or 20 weeks.

Once you complete your English Bridging course, you will sit an exam to ensure your English skills are at a level where you can commence the Study Abroad program at Monash. If you successfully pass this exam, you will have one or two weeks of break before starting University classes as part of your Study Abroad program.

The Monash English Bridging and Study Abroad program has two sessions every year.

A combined city and campus experience

During your English Bridging course, you will be footsteps away from Melbourne's vibrant central business district (from 2021 onwards), while your Study Abroad program will be a campus-based experience at Clayton or Caulfield.

While studying your English Bridging course, you have the option of living at a student apartment in the city with one of our Monash-approved accommodation providers, or living with an Australian family (homestay). Find out more information about accommodation during the English Bridging program here.

For your Study Abroad program, you are guaranteed on-campus accommodation at Monash’s Clayton campus. Even if you study at Monash’s Caulfield campus, you can still live at Clayton and use our free shuttle bus service, which runs between the two campuses. If you prefer to live off-campus, Monash Residential Services can help you find a place to live. Find out more information about accommodation during your Study Abroad program here.
