New Colombo Plan Scholarships

The New Colombo Plan Scholarship Program involves a highly competitive student application process where Monash University selects up to 10 students who will be nominated to the Department of Education and Training for their consideration. The 2021 scholarship program provides up to 120 prestigious scholarships in Australia, to support high-achieving students to undertake a semester (or year-long) exchange or study abroad program at a higher education institution commence between 1 January 2021 and 15 December 2021.
The New Colombo Plan aims to:
  • Lift knowledge of the Indo-Pacific in Australia by supporting young Australians to study and undertake Internships in the region.
  • Deepen Australia's people-to-people and institutional relationships with the region, through the engagement of students, universities, businesses and other stakeholder networks in the Program
  • Establish study in the Indo-Pacific as a rite of passage for Australian undergraduate students, and as an endeavour that is highly valued by the Australian community
  • Increase the number of work-ready Australian graduates with regional experience
