Making sure you always feel safe is something we take very seriously at Monash. It’s why we have a range of security services in place across every one of our campuses.
There’s an emergency number you can call if you ever need to, along with emergency help points at every campus so you can reach us if you don’t have a phone. We have a general security number too, where you can get advice, make a report or ask for a security escort. Both numbers are the same on every campus, and they’re listed on the right side of this page.
24/7 Security patrols
We have officers patrolling our campuses on foot, by bike and in cars – day and night, 7 days a week. They’re backed by an experienced management team, with expertise in crime prevention, investigation, surveillance, crisis and traffic management.
24/7 Security control room
24/7 Safety escorts
If you ever feel unsafe getting around campus, security officers are available to escort you to your car, public transport, taxi pick-up points, colleges or other locations on or in the near vicinity of the campus. This free 24 hour service is available to all students and staff from anywhere on campus. If you intend to work late at night and know you will need assistance, try to book in advance to avoid delays. If your escort is delayed for any reason, the Security Office will contact you.
Security and courtesy buses
Need to get around our larger campuses after dark? Easy, these live feeds show pick-up and drop-off locations and allow you to see when and where the next bus is:
Security buses run approximately every 30 minutes from 5:30pm to midnight, Monday to Friday. The Caulfield service takes you to your required location, within two kilometres of the campus. At Clayton, you can be collected or dropped off at any of the stops shown on the map.
