Monash Science achieves outstanding results in latest Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) rankings
Monash Science has performed above the international standard in the latest round of the Excellence in Research for Australia (ERA) rankings, released today by the Australian Research Council (ARC).
ERA is a comprehensive quality evaluation of all research produced in Australian universities against national and international benchmarks.
The ratings are based on research outputs from the schools and the results are determined and moderated by committees of distinguished researchers, drawn from Australia and overseas.
The Faculty of Science received world standard status across a number of disciplines and the highest possible ranking of 5 (well above world standard) in: Physical Sciences, Chemical Sciences, and Biological Sciences.
“These are outstanding results for the Faculty of Science,” said Monash Science Dean, Professor Jordan Nash.
“The results show our research production in many areas is well above the international standard, a remarkable achievement in an environment where competition for research funding and resources is fierce.
“Today’s ERA rankings for Science are testament to our commitment to world-class research.
“I congratulate all of our researchers on the excellent results announced today.”
