The School of Earth, Atmosphere & Environment has a diverse fleet of vehicles for internal SEAE personnel and for external students and staff of Monash University to utilise. SEAE vehicles are diesel and are equipped to cater for many types of 4WD activities, and over the years has provided accessibility to rural and remote areas such as the Nullarbor Plains, Tasmania, Broken Hill and Bermagui.
Four trailers are also available for loan via the School of EAE. It is advised to refer to the SEAE intranet website to obtain further information regarding the SEAE vehicle and trailer fleet. As per Monash University policy, all vehicles are replaced every four years/80,000km (whichever comes first) and are leased via ‘Custom Fleet’.
It is also important to note, permitted drivers must provide evidence of having completed a 4WD Course prior to using the vehicles for unsealed and off road driving. If a 4WD course is required, this can be organised via the vehicle co-ordinator and/or SEAE safety officer.
