Remote sensing of the environment

Supervisor(s): Xuan Zhu
Field of study: GIS, urban mining and environmental sustainability

Remote sensing has become one of the important and widely applied methods for environmental and earth resource monitoring and evaluation. The information extracted from remotely sensed images may be used in many ways, e.g. as a basis for mapping land use/cover, for understanding environmental processes and for estimating biophysical variables. The honours projects in this area will focus on mapping biophysical features of the environment and analyzing/modelling their changes and dynamics.
